POLICE KIDNAP CHECHEN SURVIVOR

according to Reports published by the Noyaya GaZETEA, A SURVIVOR OF THE CRACKDOWN ON lgbt PEOPLE IN CHECHNYA HAS BEEN ABDUCTED IN ST.PETERSBURG BY HIS OWN FAMILY AND POLICE.

Zelimkhan Akhmadov escaped Chechnya in 2017 after a mass crackdown and various disappearances and murders of LGBT people. The persecution and systematic murders of LGBT people in Russia is far from over. This is happening while the world watches the Russian World Cup and the main stream media continuously ignores underground LGBT Russian Societies  appeals to the press.

As part of the wave of arrests in 2017 at least 120 gay men were forced into hiding, fearing for their lives. Many are feared dead. It is unknown as to Akhmadovs location and his safety.

Given the lack of investigation by the Russian authorities we echo The (Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) resolution, urging the international community to press for an independent investigation into these disappearances and atrocities committed by the Chechen authorities.
